What's Next

Today at the restaurant Town, old friends came together over laughs, ideas, and great food. I hadn't seen Chari and Jocelyn in over a year and the reunion was refreshing. All of us are now out of school (Chari, soon to be as of May) and dealing with answering questions like, "What's next for you?" We all have no idea. I mean, we have ideas, but nothing put into action yet. I'm working at a retail store for minimum wage, Jocelyn is unemployed and soon to be traveling the world spontaneously, and Chari is jumbled with promising projects---all still on the horizon. The one thing that we do have in order, is our happiness. We each have our Bachelor's degree, we are each capable of finding our dreams, and yet, we hesitate, because we choose to. There's a rush to find a good job, one that supports you financially, and sets you up for the rest of your life. What I've Been Missing

I've forgotten how much I love music. There's something about the way a song can take you far away--to the forgotten past or to a new place that hadn't existed up until that exact moment. I like sad songs, slow songs, fast songs, loud songs. I revel in the sounds, the lyrics, and the voices. I could be having the worst day of my life and all I'd have to do to put a smile on my face is to turn on some Nujabes or some Yiruma. All depends on my mood. I used to scour the internet trying to find the next song I'd wake up in the morning singing to. I've somehow lost that passion. Some of my best friendships were formed over listening to songs and music-talk. It was a way of life, trading music. I remember going to see new bands play, good or bad, it was the experience of music that I was after. I was reminded again recently, of how much music means to my life.
